“Celestial Egypt” – 2027 SOLAR ECLIPSE
Wednesday, 28 July – Thursday, August 5, 2027
This tour is Specially Designed for Comfort during the Hot Egyptian Summer Weather
The average temperatures in Egypt during these dates are 77-109 F / 25-43 C.
Avoid the Crowds and No Need to Carry Anything with You
Be one of just 16 Travelers WATCHING THE ECLIPSE from the deck of our
PRIVATE NILE CRUISE Boat (10 ensuite cabins, all with A/C ).
How easy and delightful to have everything you need right there with you as you watch the eclipse from the boat – cool drinks, food and snacks, whatever you brought with you to view the eclipse, comfortable deck chairs, as well as your own private bathroom and shower. It doesn’t get much better than that!
SEE the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE 2027 from the IDEAL LOCATION
The 2027 total solar eclipse will have its maximum totality in Luxor, Egypt. For many of us, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
See the map of totality on timeanddate.com. As you can see, we will be there to witness it from the perfect location!
From the place where our boat will be moored on the Nile, totality will be more than 6 minutes – 1:02:04 PM – 1:08:26 PM on August 2, 2027 (Tour Day 6).
Since the year 2000, during the dates of this tour, in this location, the CLOUD COVER has been 0% – completely CLEAR SKIES! Perfect!!
“CELESTIAL EGYPT” – A UNIQUE ITINERARY during Egypt’s MID-SUMMER HEAT
To make this the best possible experience for our travelers, a unique itinerary was designed that maximizes the coolness in the early mornings for our sightseeing. Then during the hottest hours of the day, we will be sailing in our private Nile cruise boat (both the lounge and cabins have A/C) or visiting airconditioned museums.
In 2023 average daily temperatures in Egypt during these dates were 77 F (6:00 AM) – 109 F (2:00-5:00 PM) / 25 C – 43 C.
WHICH ANCIENT EGYPTIAN SITES WILL YOU SEE?
On Day 1 we will visit the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) where you will see the treasures of King Tut.
In Luxor, the highlights are the Karnak Temple (Day 3) and the Valley of the Kings with the tombs of Tutankhamun and Ramesses V&VI (Day 5).
The modern Luxor Museum has a number of beautifully preserved statues (they were only found in 1989), a royal mummy, and a number of interesting artifacts (Day 5).
There are two temples in Egypt that have extensive astronomical imagery on the walls, pillars, and especially the ceilings – the Esna Temple (Day 4) and the Dendera Temple (Day 7). We are lucky that both these temples have been recently restored and cleaned so that the original colors shine through.
Day 8 is a FREE DAY in Luxor to visit any other sites you would like to see or to shop in the Luxor street bazaar. Or you may decide to head straight home that day.
WHERE WILL YOU SLEEP?
With a total of 8 nights in Egypt. We have one night in Cairo upon arrival and then 7 nights on our private dahabiya Nile Cruise – no need to pack and unpack. And we have a full staff on the boat to take care of us. A world-class chef prepares delicious meals that suit our diets. There is housekeeping staff, waiters to bring us cool drinks, and of course, all the sailors who keep the boat in working order. We also have wifi and all the other modern amenities to which we have become accustomed. Each cabin has its own private bathroom with shower. There are 8 regular cabins with 2 beds each. There are also 2 suite cabins which are larger in size, have one large bed, and panoramic windows or a small balcony. All the cabins have windows that open with adjustable screens and shutters.
