Greetings Friends,

During the more than 25 years I have been organizing and leading Egypt tours, there is one thing I notice again and again. People often come to Egypt when they are moving from one chapter in their lives to a new one. The tour often becomes a B.E and A.E. (Before Egypt, After Egypt) situation for them. I think of Egypt as a powerfully loving midwife who steps in at those particular times in people’s lives to help, encourage, inspire, and support them as they move into their new chapters. The temples, the tombs, the pyramids, all celebrate rebirth and new life.

Of course, for some people, the tour is just the best vacation ever, and that’s always great, too. And then there are those people where Egypt helps them connect with expanded versions of themselves and also “recharges their batteries.” Those people often come to Egypt multiple times. One woman holds the record at 14 Egypt tours with me!

As I look forward to the tours coming up next season, I know that there are many, many people experiencing profound shifts and changes in their lives. The whole world, and especially the USA, is going through big changes with lots of upheaval. Egypt is there to assist us, and the upcoming tours are designed to give each individual person the maximum they can receive from Egypt right now.

An in-depth extended tour which includes sites in Middle Egypt by bus and an optional Nile Cruise (private dahabiya). Special sites included: Tell el-Amarna, Beni Hasan, Meidum Pyramid, Abydos, Hathor Temple, and a special private visit in the Great Pyramid at Giza.

2025 Changes in Egypt

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) OPENING – yes, really!!

Yes, in July the GEM is finally really fully opening. There is A LOT to see there. I have already seen the statues displayed on The Grand Staircase and the 12 new galleries (opened in October 2024). The final addition will be the King Tutankhamun collection (available this July). The GEM also has a food court with many options, a large gift shop, and many smaller shops. All the items for sale at the GEM are MADE IN EGYPT only.

I will be going to Egypt the end of July to check everything out before the tours in the Fall.

BIG CHANGES at the Giza Pyramids

There has been a big push in the last 3-5 years to modernize the tourist experience at the Giza Pyramids. There is now a new entrance called “The Great Gate” and shuttle buses take tourists on an established route from that entrance. There are 7 stops ending at the Sphinx. Each stop has a small visitors’ center with rest rooms, vendors, and info displays. Tickets are now purchased by credit card only (no cash), camel rides are by ticket only, a modern upscale restaurant has been built overlooking the pyramids, and another large tourist-luncheon restaurant has opened in a high place where tourists can see all the Giza pyramids.
